Federation holds karate championships
The Malta Karate Federation (www.maltakarate.com) recently hosted the seventh national Kata championships at the St Aloysius Sports Complex, Birkirkara. The championships saw 160 members, representing seven different clubs all affiliated within the federation, competing in 28 different categories. Many youngsters demonstrated a high level of skill in both the individual and team events. In a short statement, the federation said the results obtained confirmed the development, hard work and commitment of all involved in the championships. The professional way with which the event was organised and judged augurs future success for the federation and its members, the statement added. During the championships high-ranking officials from the federation were present, including the organisation's head Kenneth Abela, technical director and international judge Anthony Zammit and the Italian technical consultant maestro Santo Torre. | ||
