Malta Karate Federation holds National League

Over 250 athletes aged between 6 and 35 years competed in this year’s National Karate League which was held on 13 and 14 April 2019 at National Sports School, Pembroke.

In 2018, MKF hosted 6 international masters seminars and athletes took part in 8 competitions winning 89 medals.

Special guest for the League was Ms. Kathy Broder European Karate Federation Referee who gave a seminar to MKF referees and table officials and who oversaw the refereeing process in the league. ‘The technical level of both the athletes and the judges was of a very high standard and the organization of this event was spotless’ commented Ms. Kathy Broder.  

‘It is our vision to promote karate and we have been working closely with the World Karate Federation and the European Karate Federation together with the Maltese Olympic Committee to include karate in 2023 GSSE games,’ commented MKF president Mr. Kenneth Abela.

Isiru il-Kampjonti Nazzjonali tal-Karate

Aktar minn 250 atleta mill-Malta Karate Federation, b’ etajiet bejn 6 snin u 35 sena, ħadu sehem fil-Kampjonati Nazzjonali tal-Karate nhar is-Sibt 13 u l-Ħadd 14 ta’ April 2019 ġewwa l-Iskola Nazzjonali tal-Isport, Pembroke.

Is-sena 2018 kienet sena mimlija attivitjiet u taħriġ għall-MKF. Ġew organizzati sitt sessjonijiet ta’ taħriġ minn tekniċi barranin, kif ukoll pparteċipajna fi tmien kompetizzjonijiet barra minn Malta, fejn intrebħu mhux anqas minn 89 midalja.

Mistiedna speċjali għal dawn il-Kampjonati kienet Is-Sinjura Kathy Broder, li hija Referee tal-European Karate Federation. Hija tat sessjonijiet ta’ taħriġ lir-referees u lit-table officials tal-MKF, filwaqt illi segwiet l-andament tal-Kampjonati mill-aspett ta’ refereeing.  ‘Il-livell tekniku kemm tal-atleti kif ukoll tar-referees kien wieħed għoli u inżid ngħid illi l-organizzazjoni kollha ta’ dan l’avveniment kienet waħda impekkabli,’ ikkummentat is-Sinjura Broder.

Il-President tal-Malta Karate Federation, is-Sur Kenneth Abela għalaq billi żied jgħid,  ‘Il-viżjoni tagħna hija illi inkomplu nippromwovu dan l-isport u għaldaqstant qiegħed isir xogħol mal-World Karate Federation u mal-European Karate Federation b’kollaborazzjoni mal-Maltese Olympic Committee sabiex jiġi inkluż il-Karate fil- GSSE, il-Logħob tal-Pajjiżi iż-Żagħar tal-Ewropa fis-sena 2023.’
